A little to share

My original intention was to make my next post about my little trip near the lake taking pictures. Then the holidays came (of which I took no pictures). Then I've made another trip, this time to some new territory for me (there is still some pretty scenery in our small state that I've yet to see). So I will have to limit my pictures to the first trip and a teaser for the New Year's trip. After all, I haven't even looked at the pictures I took this week.

My first trip just before Christmas was to the area around the War Eagle Mill in rural Benton County. A really pretty place with the reproduction grist mill and a nearly hundred year old bridge. I really like bridges. But more on that later. This narrow one-lane bridge is kindly accompanied by someone's loving labor to reproduce the even older mill that toiled in partnership with the War Eagle River. And the old style flours, mixes, and other foods they produce here are equal parts delicious and natural.
I then included one of the shots of a country church I've appreciated looking at for many years and a nice look at Beaver Lake from a high spot near Rocky Branch.

Then lastly, the tent picture is from our New Year's trip. It was at least this cold outside. That is frost on the outside of the tent vent. There was also frost on the inside of the tent. Perhaps not the coldest night I've spent outside, but close. And my sleeping bag performed great, I was rather cozy inside my bag asleep.
